Hall Bower Club Coronavirus Update

You will all now be aware that the Government has imposed further Covid-19 restrictions for pubs and clubs. These restrictions are now a legal requirement. The Committee have discussed the new restrictions at length and have made the decision to remain open.

As of Thursday 24/09/2020, Hall Bower Club will continue to open, as advertised; Friday and Sunday only from 4:00 – 8:00pm.

Masks and face coverings will now be mandatory for all volunteer staff, as well as customers, unless seated. Please ensure you bring one with you.

Upon entering the club, you must sign your details for contact tracing. If you do not sign, you will be asked to leave the premises.

There will be a maximum of 6 people to a table. Please do not interact with other groups less than 2 metres away.

The Club will now operate table service only. You will not be served at the bar; please do not try.

Failure to follow the rules will result in non-service and you may be asked to leave the premises. Non-compliance could result in the club receiving a 10k fine; please do not be the person who costs our Club this.

We thank you all for your continued support in helping us to keep the club a safe place.

Club open 4-8 pm, Friday & Sunday

The Club will be opening as planned at 4 pm today and the same time on Sunday.

The new guidelines issued yesterday regarding areas in the north of England do not affect how the Club operates. We have measures in place to reduce the risks of the spread of Covid-19, including social distancing. It is up to individuals attending to ensure they distance themselves from people who are from other households.

Club Reopening Friday, 31st

The Club will be reopening on Friday 31st July. Initial openings will be 4pm-8pm Fridays and Sundays.  Additional openings (particularly Saturdays) will be advertised.

Measures have been put in place to keep staff and customers safe during the Covid-19 pandemic. The bar area should be kept clear at all times except when ordering drinks from behind the plastic screen.  Only 1 person is allowed at the bar at once.  Payment should be via contactless card wherever possible.

People should stay seated in their groups (maximum of 6 per ‘bubble’), preferably outside if the weather permits. Families are welcome, but children should stay seated with a responsible adult. Customers are asked not to move any tables as locations are set for social distancing. Customers should return empty glasses, bottles and cans to the collection point away from the bar.

There will be a one way system for entrance/exit and the stairs. Please observe the signs.  Only one person at a time will be allowed in the toilets.

All dogs must be kept on a lead at your table.

We will be recording name and telephone number upon arrival, for the purpose of NHS track and trace. These records will be destroyed within a month unless required.

Please do not attend the Club if you feel unwell.

Club Closure

Following the recently announced changes to the government lock down rules, the Committee are assessing the risks associated with reopening the Club during the pandemic. The safety of our volunteer staff, members and guests are our priority. We are looking at limited opening hours from early August. In the meantime measures need to be put in place to minimise the risks and further announcements will be made in the coming weeks

Club Closure

The Club will be closed as of today (Saturday, 21st March 2020) as per Government guidelines with regards to the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The committee will be dealing with any issues arising from the closure and in the meantime welcome communication from members and friends via email, Facebook or Twitter. We will re-open when the time is right when an announcement will be made.

Club Closure

The committee will be making some decisions over the next couple of days regarding the management of the Club during the COVID-19 pandemic. In the meantime the Club will be closed both Tuesday & Wednesday (17th & 18th) and we will be making further announcements in the near future.

AGM Postponed

I light of the recent developments with the COVID-19 pandemic we have decided to postpone next Saturday’s Annual General Meeting.

It is likely we will be making further announcements this week about the general running of the Club during this crisis and you can keep up-to-date by subscribing to the email notifications on our website.

Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Hall Bower Athletic Club & Institute will be held at the Club on Saturday, 21st March 2020 at 8.00 pm.
All members are invited to attend this meeting at which there will be a summary of activities over the last year and a financial report. An agenda will be sent out via email about 10 days prior to the meeting.
The current committee will be dissolved at the meeting and an election held to select the new committee. A committee nomination list is now displayed in the Club and any member of at least 6 months standing can be nominated as long as they are proposed and seconded. Effective committee members should have a commitment to the Club, sufficient time to devote to the committee roles and responsibilities and the ability to listen and use the technology employed by the Club. The nomination list will remain up in the Club until the day before the AGM. The nominations will then be entered on a ballot sheet and votes cast at the meeting (sorry there are currently no arrangements for voting to take place outside the meeting).
It is hoped that all members will try to attend the AGM, as it is your chance to be involved in the management of your Club.

Race Night Friday

The Club will be hosting a ‘Race Night’ from about 7.00 pm, Friday, 21st February with proceeds going towards the Newsome Panthers Under 14 tour of France later this year.

Races and horses will be sponsored (£25 a race, £5 a horse).

Hot food available.
